Lipogaine Review – Treatment to Regrow Hair
Lipogaine is a treatment solution to fight hair loss. What sets it apart from so many other similar treatments is that it works by both reducing DHT levels AND stimulating hair growth. Lipogaine combines hair growth stimulator, proprietary herbal blend DHT blockers and Vitamins into one formula. This can save the consumer a lot of money by getting more of what is needed to fight hair loss in one product. This Lipogaine review is an overview of my experience with this product.
I’ve used several of the well-known minoxidil solutions, and Lipogaine packs a lot more value into the bottle. That’s how it delivers the double punch to address hair loss. Another great perk is that over at Lipogaine, they carry a version of their minoxidil products for both men and women to accommodate different hair loss needs. Here’s all you need to know about Lipogaine.
Lipogaine Review
Lipogaine has been the most effective hair loss product I have used. Let me explain:
Does Lipogaine work?
In short – yes! I’ve tried many types of hair loss treatments over the years, as explained on this web resource, and the minoxidil solution provided in Lipogaine simply excels over all the other options in practically every area. (Minoxidil is the only FDA approved ingredient for hair re-growth as of today. Minoxidil has been proven to stimulate hair growth through rigorous clinical studies.) After using Lipogaine every day for the first year, the results I gained over using just a plain minoxidil product were more impressive than I could have imagined.
I noticed early results after just the first 4 months and it has continued to maintain and thicken my hair. My balding started on the left and right of my hairline and in the back top area. When I started applying Lipogaine as a part of my treatment routine, the hairline and thinning top forcefully grew back in a short time. I’ve gotten comments from my spouse, hairdresser, family and friends. There is no room for doubt in my situation. This Lipogaine review is honest and positive, and when people ask, “Does Lipogaine work?” … I have a lot to tell them! My daily hair treatment routine worked very well, and Lipogaine plays a huge role in its success.

How does Lipogaine work?
High levels of DHT can have negative effects on hair health. DHT attaches itself to hair follicles and deprives them of nutrition, causing them to shrink, and eventually fall out. This leaves only two options: Reduce DHT level, or stimulate growth despite it. Lipogaine does both. It stimulates hair growth and reduces DHT level by combining minoxidil and proven natural DHT blockers into one convenient solution. The ingredient profile of Lipogaine is excellent, and I have researched this to get a better understanding of the importance of each. I highly recommend that you do the same. I also find it helpful to research what other users of a product have to say, and you’d be hard pressed to find a Lipogaine review that wasn’t positive.
Lipogaine is easy to apply
Lipogaine is applied to dry hair (or towel dried hair less than 2 inch long). You can wash your hair 3 hours after applying the solution. The included dropper applicator makes Lipogaine easy to use. Just fill the dropper up to the desired amount, and proceed to move the dropper close to the area you wish to treat. Slowly squeeze the solution out, so that it does not run directly off the scalp. Be sure the solution comes into contact with the scalp and not just the hair, this is crucial so that the solution can be absorbed into the scalp around the thinning areas. I use my fingers tips to rub it into my scalp and the whole process just takes a few minutes. Sometimes Lipogaine leaves a little residue, but I use it at night before I go to bed and wash it out in the morning. The few times I have used it during the day it’s never been noticeable, especially if I just use a little gel. Also, this product has no smell.
Use Lipogaine daily as part of a hair loss treatment routine for best results
Although this article is a Lipogaine review, I should point out that I use it consistently as a part of my daily routine. This includes Lipogaine, generic minoxidil, finasteride and trichogen to achieve my results. Again, it’s important to be consistent in the applications. Trichogen is a combination of eighteen plus herbal extracts that puts hair back in to the anagen, or growth phase. I use [easyazon_link keywords=”ProFolla AnaStim Ha” locale=”US” tag=”hotogrhaba-20″]”ProFolla AnaStim Ha”[/easyazon_link] from Amazon for a trichogen product and find it excellent. Also, It is recommended that minoxidil be applied twice a day, so to save money, I occasionally use Kirkland Generic Minoxidil as one of those applications. You can read my Kirkland Minoxidil Review for more information. Using Lipogaine at least once a day has worked incredibly well for me and I can’t say enough good things about this product.
For both men and women
Lipogaine conveniently comes in two formulas from Lipogaine online: a 5% minoxidil solution for men and a 2% minoxidil solution for women. Women are usually more sensitive to the side effects of minoxidil in decreasing blood pressure and have a higher chance of getting light-headed from the medication.
Lipogaine side effects
The great thing about Lipogaine is that compared to pill treatments like Propecia, Lipogaine side effects are very minimal …if you experience any at all. The most common side effects are itching and scalp irritation of the treated area that may be caused by the propylene glycol. If irritation of the scalp persists, don’t continue to use Lipogaine until you get the advice of a doctor. This is a no-brainer, but it’s worth mentioning that this product contains alcohol, so avoid getting it into your eyes. Finally, although it’s rare, some people may experience chest pain, faintness, or dizziness. If this happens, you should clearly stop using the product right away!
Lipogaine side effects are such a small issue, that this was the only hair loss product for which the side effects had no negative impact on my decision to use it whatsoever. I wouldn’t have mentioned them, but since this is a Lipogaine review, I thought it best to include all relevant information.
Lipogaine has a version for men and women with sensitive scalps
In case you have an allergy to regular liquid minoxidil, Lipogaine has a sensitive scalp version available. It comes in blue colored packaging for both the men’s and women’s version (see image above). Lipogaine states that “this product is free of the ingredients that cause scalp irritation in 98% of people”, so they’ve got you covered!
As mentioned above, there are very few Lipogaine side effects, but there can be occasional itching and scalp irritation. This would most likely occur with people who have sensitive scalps, and Lipogaine obviously took this into consideration and developed this version of their product as an alternative. It’s great to see a company look out for the need of ALL their customers!
Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo – Completing the Solution
Lipogaine also provides an excellent shampoo solution – the Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo. It contains a blend of natural ingredients, and focuses on the main 3: Biotin, caster oil and emu oil. These 3 ingredients have been shown to be effective in fighting hair loss and combined with vitamins and extracts, they make the Lipogaine Big 3 shampoo a great option to work into your regular routine.
This shampoo is meant for using around 3-4 times per week and would be an excellent choice to rotate with another shampoo such as Alpecin., which fights hair loss though its caffeine ingredient.
The Lipogaine Big 3 shampoo is very well reviewed across the web by a great many users, and they claim to also like the scent and feel of their hair after its use. This may definitely be worth checking out as another tool to keep hair loss at bay and adding to the affordable resources at your disposal.
Where to purchase Lipogaine?
I always purchase Lipogaine from the Lipogaine website. Delivery has been fast and I have never had issues with any Lipogaine order. All Lipogaine products are available and they offer free domestic shipping.
I’m fine with always purchasing from Lipogaine directly because they are prompt, respond to inquiries right away, and are a pleasure to deal with. I also love that they accept PayPal. The feature included in PayPal to not pay until you receive the order is fantastic.
Conclusion
Lipogaine works far better than any of the hair growth products I have tried. It’s easy to apply, easy to purchase from Lipogaine’s online store, and has little to no side effects. By using it with finasteride, hair loss shampoos and reinforcing with products such as trichogen, found in [easyazon_link keywords=”ProFolla AnaStim Ha” locale=”US” nw=”y” nf=”y” tag=”hotogrhaba-20″]ProFolla AnaStim Ha[/easyazon_link], I have restored my hair to a point where it’s barely noticeable that my hair is any thinner than it was 15 years ago. Keep in mind I have used it both on its own and with a few other products – it makes a big difference in both situations.
As explained throughout this website, hair growth is a slow process and you’ll need to be patient and consistent to obtain results. That being said, the results I began to see after 4 months of using Lipogaine blew me away and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a solid, effective product to treat hair loss. If you came here looking for an honest Lipogaine review, I can tell you from personal experience, this stuff really works.

Great review. It’s so hard to find a review on these types of hair loss products that actually provides useful information from the point of view of using the product. Most of em just wanna sell you the product! Thanks so much for this information and please review more hair loss products!
Thanks Matt! I will certainly review more products as I get the time. The priority is to provide honest and useful information to help people considering a certain hair loss product make the best decision possible.
It’s truly a nice and useful piece of information. I’m
glad that you simply shared this useful information with us.
Please stay us informed like this. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the review, but I have a question, if I stop using lipogaine after my hair has grown, will I loose it?
Thanks for visiting this site. To answer your question, in a word, yes. Minoxidil only work while it is being used and any growth as a result will unfortunately be lost.
I use lipogaine big 3 and hair surge/solace shampoo/conditioner combo, alternating days. So even when using hair loss shampoos that block dht it will still fall out if I stop using the minoxidil?
Hi Mike,
It’s impossible to say anything for absolute certainty, but we do know that any benefit received from using minoxidil or finasteride will be lost if your stop usage. The hair loss shampoos are an excellent way to supplement a routine to fight hair loss, but can not fight hair loss all on their own.
Good luck and thanks for the comment!

Have been considering using lipogaine for a while and enjoyed your review. My only question is if lipogaine already contains minoxidil, why do you recommend additional minoxidil usage?
Hi, and thanks for dropping by “How to Grow Hair Back”! I use additional minoxidil because Kirkland Minoxidil is far less expensive, and helps to fulfill the need for two applications of minoxidil a day. Lipogaine has other very beneficial ingredients that also help block DHT. If money is no issue, then by all means, use Lipogaine twice a day for sure.
We absolutely love your blog and find many of
your post’s to be exactly I’m looking for.
can you offer guest writers to write content for yourself?
I wouldn’t mind publishing a post or elaborating
on a number of the subjects you write concerning here. Again, awesome web log!
Hi i just wanted to how would you use ProFolla® AnaStim Ha® Follicle Stimulator in combination with lipogaine. Is it like applying them together or applying one in the morning and the other in the night. It would be really helpful if you can clarify my doubt. Also would you suggest any medication to take in like Biotin or anything.
It’s all explained in the Daily Treatment section!
I sho do use this here lipogaine stuff is hopes it works !
My only relationship with lipogaine is as a customer. There was a problem, and I was very impressed how lipogaine dealt with it.
That’s very good to know. Thanks for the feedback!
I have lost a little bit of hair on the sides that made my hairline go back a little, should I only apply a little lipogaine to that area and wash it 4 hour’s later..or do I have to put it on twice a day…if I do have to put it on twice should I put it on in the morning and again in the evening after 8 hours of waiting and do i wash before I apply b the second one. Very lost please help
Please see Daily routine for how I apply these products, and please keep in mind that you can switch lipogaine and kirkland minoxidol in the order they are applied (morning or night). Typically, you only apply these in the area of hair loss, while it is not necessary, washing your hair before application dies clean the scalp. It’s not a good idea though to be washing hair several times a days, so for the nightly application do not re-wash ( I may rinse my hair under a tap and towel dry though).
Thanks for dropping by the site and good luck!
So why is Lipogaine not on Amazon anymore? I’m skeptical on buying it now, without knowing the reason why it has been taken off of the Amazon site.
Hi Brandon,
I noticed recently myslef when I went to make my Lipogain order. I sent them a message and asked why, and their response was pretty straight forward:
“Amazon has changed its policy and doesn’t allow any minoxidil products other than those that are straight 5% and 2% minoxidil. We don’t know when or whether it’ll change its policy again. All Lipogaine products are available at our website and we offer free domestic shipping.”
I usually ordered it from Amazon because I would order several things at once, but I have ordered from Lipogaine.com several times in the past with a great experience. PLUS.. they accept PayPal, which I love and Amazon does not (which is my only small complaint of using Amazon). PayPal is my favorite payment service by far, and offers a “Pay after you receive” service for free.
I’ll update this article with new links and info about the change very soon!
Thanks Brandon.
hello sir i have a one question how many time for grown first hair 2 weeks/ 4 weeks or monthss?????
Hi Shabow,
Thanks for visiting! The amount of time it takes for results to appear really depends on several factors, but ultimately it will be 4 to 6 months before really being able to see any difference. This is because hair grows in cycles and it takes time for the follicle to shed the thin hair and return to a state where it can produce a healthier, thicker and longer hair.
The things that determine this outside of the usual process include how long since the hair has been lost, age, and of course generics. Some people simply have better results and respond better to these treatments than others due to individual genetic makeup.
Also, remember that a shedding phase anywhere in the first 3-4 months is quite normal as well. It means the follicles are responding to the treatment.
Thanks and I hope this answers your question!
Hi, I have read your article as I am torn between the various brands of Minoxidil. I am currently 17 years old so I am unable to take Propecia to block DHT but I do know that Lipogaine has some DHT blockers. What I am curious is the fact that they have removed Azelaic acid and now use Azetinol which I feel like was one of their main selling points from the research I have done. I would like to know your opinion if whether or not this affects the DHT blocking mechanism in Lipogaine as I am unable to take Propecia
Hi Abdur!
First off, you are correct that you should NOT be using Propecia at only 17 years old, simply because DHT is still very important to your body’s development at that age.
Hair loss is usually not evident in men until they are at least 20, but there exceptions.
As for minoxidil, I use both Lipogaine AND Kirkland brand minoxidil. I want to use Lipogaine for the added ingredients, and yes they did have to remove azelaic acid. The ingredient azetinol, is owned by Lipogaine to my knowledge, and is a proprietary extract of natural DHT blocking grains rich in vitamins particularly A and fatty acids.
Also, it is important to note that much more research is needed to show any real effectiveness of azelaic acid as a hair loss treatment. In fact, most of the hype surrounding azelaic acid for hair loss is purely speculation based on scientific studies and clinical trials that were not on a living organism. I have not seen any studies using humans, outside of one I recall reading about where they used people with patchy hair loss (immune based alopecia areata), but the results were not supportive of using azelaic acid for standard hair loss.
Nizoral, Alpecin, Lipogaine, Kirkland brand minoxidil, and vitamins worked extremely well for me without any finasteride. I did this for several years before adding finasteride back into my routine. I added finasteride back in the mix to address some slight thinning in the frontal hairline that I wanted to catch before it progressed (and in this case, the finasteride did complete the whole treatment well).
Good luck, and thanks for visiting this site. I hope I answered your question.

Hey, thanks for this Lipogaine review it’s definitely the best information I could fine and no BS. Looking forward to more reviews like this from you. I have a question: do you think using Lipogaine twice a day would be even better than your suggestion to rotate it with generic minoxidil? Looking forward to your reply.
Hi Conner,
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and am glad you found this article useful! I definitely plan to add much more content and reviews.
Yes, if you are fine with using Lipogaine twice a day and using it up faster, then there is certainly no downside, put it that way. I suggested using Kirkland once a day as a more affordable option, since Kirkland minoxidil would serve perfectly as one of the recommended daily applications of “minoxidil”. Lipogaine however, is the ULTIMATE, because of its added benefit of all the extra ingredients that provide DHT blocking and anti-inflammatory effects.
do you know what is the difference between the red Lipogaine for men and Blue lipogaine for men? do they work equally well?
Hi Bob,
According to Lipogaine.com, both are advertised to produce the same results. The only difference between Lipogaine in the red and blue packaging is that blue package Lipogaine is free of the ingredients that cause scalp irritation in 98% of people. The blue box is for anyone who may be allergic to any other regular liquid minoxidil. I have only used the red, because I have no such allergies.

LipoGaine is the best hair treatment ever …trust me guys it works
can you show a before and after photo in your blog?
Hi Kevein,
There are a few before after on the My Hair Loss and Regrowth post. That was a while back but I’ve kept the regrowth through my daily routine. I’ll try to add a recent update photo, maybe with a brush or comb running through my hair to show the fullness.
Thanks,

Which one is better to help hair regrowth, Lipogaine for men or Lipogaine shampoo?
I would say Lipogaine minoxidil solution (for both men and women). The shampoo is a great way to ‘supplement’ the minoxidil.
Hi. I’m a 20 yrs old woman. So I planned on using lipogaine for women. I want to ask if there will be any side effects in the future? I mean, will it affect my future baby or anything? It’s complicated to be a women. I gotta think about the future. My hair started to fall drastically about a year ago. And now my hair is super thin. Especially at my crown. I got male baldness pattern. My hairlines recedes and I can see my scalp at the crown. My father also have this kind of bald pattern. But he said he didn’t go bald until he is in his late 30 s. I’m a woman and I’m still too young to go bald. Btw I’m quite scared. I’m sorry for asking this to you since you’re a man. I jst grabbing every straw that I could find. I jst hope you have the answer to this.
P.s. I’m not pregnant. I’m not even married.
P.s.s. English is not my first language so pls bear with my bad english.
Hi, thanks for visiting the site, and for your question. First, I would definitely suggest you check with a doctor to rule out serious causes of hair loss at such a young age! Female pattern baldness is certainly a lot more common than many people think, but there are also many other conditions that can cause similar symptoms. Many of thse conditions are related to the immune system, stress, and more, so getting it checked out is always a very good idea so that you can be proactive and begin treating things early!
If it is genetic female pattern baldness that you are experiencing, then Lipogaine minoxidil solution for women may be able to help. It is important to catch this early before too much hair loss has occurred. The female version of Lipogaine is a 2% minoxidil solution, as women are generally more sensitive to minoxidil than men.
To answer your question, Minoxidil should not present any negative effect to becoming pregnant in the future, but women who become pregnant are advised to stop using minoxidil right away. This is to prevent any potential birth defects. There is no minoxidil study that shows negative results for humans during pregnancy, but there are animal studies that show some side effects in babies from the minoxidil that was absorbed into the skin. So why would anyone risk such a thing for hair loss right?
Also, when a woman becomes pregnant, a lot more estrogen is released into her system. This results in more hair density, and it makes a women’s hair look thicker. SO, the minoxidil would probably not be needed during pregnancy anyway!
To my understanding, a woman can take minoxidil again, once she has given birth and is NOT breast feeding.
Best of luck, and I hope this answers your question!!

Hi , Im 21 years old . I started noticing my hair getting thiner and thiner since 2 years ago till i came across lipogaine . I been using lipogaine for 12 months for about 4-5 times a week I also use the lipogaine big 3 shampoo for the same anount of time and I feel like bothing has been change .. My hair still falls alot and its getting worse and worse everyday I really don’t know what to do pleasee help!!
Hi Majid,
Sorry to hear you have not been having much luck. I want to start by pointing out that minoxidil is effective when used twice a day, EVERY day. Also, I believe that it works great with other treatments such as finasteride, but at your young age, that might be something you want to think about and not rush into. Also, finasteride use should be discussed with your doctor.
It’s also important to understand that if your hair loss is progressing that fast, and began at only 19 yrs old, it is aggressive (I know that’s not what you want to hear). Aggressive hair loss is harder to treat because it’s fighting back harder than the effectiveness of most treatments available and unfortunately, not everyone gets the same results from hair loss treatments because of this reason!
It’s also worth making sure your hair loss is simply genetic, and harmless. It’s most likely male pattern baldness, but it never hurts to check in with a doctor or dermatologist, just to be sure!
If you really want to fight rapid hair loss, you may have to start a solid regime of minoxidil, finasteride, low level laser, Nizoral shampoo, etc. Or, you could simply shave your head and perhaps you’ll rock that look! The only other option is to either look at hair restoration treatments like PRP (platelet-rich plasma) or hair transplant options. Also, who knows what the future holds? You’re only young and I’m willing to bet you’ll see some pretty big changes in hair loss treatments over the next few decades!
In the meantime please check back and let us know how you make out and thanks so much for your comment and visiting Hair for Keeps.

Did you have any type of shock loss with Lipogaine or have heard of anyone that has as a side effect?
Hi James,
No I have not, nor have I ever heard of such a thing with Lipogaine use. However, it is common to experience shedding once the hair follicles begin to become stronger. They lose the smaller finer hair as they begin to sprout a thicker stronger hair! This is common with both minoxidil and finasteride.
I have never experienced any Lipogaine side effects, and I have not come across anyone else that has either!
Thanks for visiting and commenting,

should I use Lipogaine shampoo and conditioner together?
Hi Joseph,
If you choose to use both then yes, for sure! Like all shampoo and conditioner products, each serves a specific purpose. The Lipogaine website states specifically that the Big 5 Hair Conditioner “Works perfectly with Lipogaine Big 3 Hair shampoo”.
Thanks for visiting the site!
